Typescript reminiscences of Lucy Ann Henderson Deady concerning her emigration to Oregon in 1846, as well as early settlement, government, and family life in Oregon; her party met Jesse Applegate at Fort Hall, Idaho and agreed to follow his newly explored Southern route to Oregon; narrative describes the hardships subsequently suffered by emigrants along the Applegate Trail; account based on interview by journalist Fred Lockley.
